Chinese New Year Outings

Today is the last day of Jan. See how quickly the time flies *sigh* I'd posted the photos for the 3rd day of 

CNY.

Here goes the photos of how i celebrate CNY on the 4th, 5th and 6th day. As for the rest of the days, they're just NORMAL days for me to stay at home and being an obedient otaku =3

The 4th day:

Nic-chan and I went to the shopping mall. Get ourselves some ice-cream and some other stuffs.

It's a huge Chinese dragon flying in the air. But it was being vandalised and there're holes on its body, poor dragon-kun.

After that, we had our lunch/ high tea/whatever you call it at around 3pm. This is our ice lemon tea.

We ordered a plate of spaghetti with chicken meatballs. A plate? Yup, both of us shared a plate. I have a small appetite and Nic-chan, she wasn't as hungry as she used to be.

The 5th day:

I went out with the other 3 buddies (Panda, Pinky and Penguin) at night for supper.

This is my apple juice. I wanted to order watermelon juice but they ran out of watermelon. Then, i ordered orange juice they said there were currently no oranges available WTHell..

The 6th day:

I went to the same place as the 5th day for lunch with my cousins awwww..i don't understand why. I have to say that the interior decos are very nice but the food is very costly and the taste is so-so (just my random opinion). I'm choosy when it comes to food. That's the reason i'm so skinny. Hmmm..

Jeng Jeng~~ CNY Special ☆

This post is very special, you know why? It's because i'm gonna reveal my face here ( ´ ▽ ` ) Yup, for those who are curious about how i may look like (beware, curiosity kills the cat =P)

On the 21th of Jan, i went to a very small town called "peace town" (direct translation from Malay) to celebrate CNY because it's where my paternal grandparents are living in. I didn't bring the camera along with me so there're no photos to show for the CNY eve, the 1st and the 2nd day. Hmmm..it was kinda boring there. Not much of the visiting. I did not enjoy the food either because of the damn viruses invading my immune system. But i'm quite happy with the red packets (angpaos) that i had received. I mean, who doesn't like to receive angpaos with cash inside =P Anyway,we went back to our hometown on the 2nd day. 

Tadaa~ This is a family gathering on the 3rd day. A huge family gathering, that is.

She met him in Australia when she was studying there. Now, they are both geologists =) They love to travel so he followed her back to her hometown =3 I heard that he likes our little city.

Yeah~ Exam was finally over !! But i'm not confident with the results p(´⌒｀q)

It's my pleasure to be having the same day of birthday with Nicholas Steno, who is the father of modern geology.  I'd briefly gone through an article about him (actually i know nothing about him before i saw the Google doodle). Happy 374th birthday to you and also the 22th birthday to myself. I feel so young if compared to Nicholas Steno (nonsense).

Many thanks to those who remembered my birthday. I appreciate it very much.

Thanks to my mom for being with me and thanks to mom and dad for the yummy meals (dad was on his business trip).

Thanks to my buddies for suggesting to help me to celebrate but i said it has to be postponed due to me having exams this week. Hope we can meet soon~

Under the Coconut Shell

I've gotten used to go to bed late at night. It's the time when i feel myself floating off to the faraway land, away from reality (I daydream a lot, at anytime and anywhere). It's even better when it's raining. Listening to the rain calms my heart. That's when the words keep pouring in and i have the sudden urge to write a post. Pray hard that i won't oversleep when i'm having my exams in the morning.

I never let my hair grew until my shoulder since i was born until the age of 13, believe it or not =3 My mom used to be my hairdresser that time and she didn't allow my hair to grow long. I can't remember what was her reason already. She liked to cut my hair real short (the shortest length is above my ears). Imagine my hair which was short and thick, that made me looked as if i was wearing a helmet/mushroom cap/half of the coconut shell. I looked funny yet cute (seriously it's other people's opinions, not mine). That's my trademark when i was a little girl.

I finally had the freedom to let my hair grew long at the age of 14. I can't remember why my mom allowed me to do so. My hair is wavy in a messy way (heredity) and I MUST tie up my hair whenever i step out of my house otherwise i'll look as if i have just woken up from a nap. Then one day, i planned to save money to rebond my hair (wanted to experience the feel of possessing the long straight shiny hair like the models in the shampoo advertisements very eagerly). And finally, my long hair was successfully rebonded at the age of 19. Only then i realized that the high temperature had killed billions of my hair. So i cut my hair short again during March last year and was maintaining it until now.
Aww..i feel young again, like when i was a little girl with the coconut shell on her head ( ´ ▽ ` )

Tell you why I prefer having short hair, it's actually common sense ~

✿ I won't look like the ghost from "the Ring" when i wake up.

✿ It saves water, shampoo and conditioner, time, money and energy.

✿ It lowers the chances of the hair getting knotted together or having split ends (totally hate it when my hair splits into four parts or more).

✿ You don't have to worry about your hair accidentally brushing the face of someone who's behind or beside you when you turn around (It happened and it was embarrassing).

✿ You don't have to worry about your hair covering your face and blocking your view while you're walking when a gust of wind blows ヽ(｀д´；)ﾉ うおおおお！

See? Short hair brings many of benefits if you can forget about being pretty and ladylike. Having short hair won't make you act like a boy anyway. 

*yawns* my body is telling me to go to bed. Bye ~~

✦ New Year Event ✦

Yoshi, it's the new year event. I'm excited because my poupee friend said that there will be kimonos. And yes, the four sets of kimonos are superb ♥(●´ω｀●) Love them !! Thanks to Katherine who introduced the lovely items for the ribbon section *bows*

The default background which is the Shinto shrine. You can usually see this in Japanese drama or anime. It's a Japanese tradition whereby the Japanese go there during new year to make a wish or to pray for a good fortune. Oh by the way, this is not the kimono which i'm talking about. It was bought during the summer event if not mistaken.

This is the cheapest among the four sets which is 340R. 

This costed 450R (⊙.◎)

This is 400R. 

And the last one is 500R which is the most expensive. I'd spent so much ribbons for this event ╮(╯_╰)╭ Anyway, which set do you like the most? 

When the Japanese visit the shrine, one thing that they always do is to write their wishes on the wooden plates and then hang them on the "Ema". They can wish for luck, health, wealth, love, passing of exams and so on.

My poupee is holding the new items which are the new year's special rake and the written oracle "omikuji" which means fortune i guess.

There are three colours for this hair accessory and i chose red to match with the red kimonos.

The new bunny bag. Again, it's in red. Red means luck (i'm not sure why). So, remember to wear red clothes often =)

This is the wooden plate with the dragon motif and words. 2010 is the year of the dragon =3
